On Thursday we had a busy day. Our first stop was to the town of Stia.
It's a small village that produced enormous amounts of wool in the 1800 and early 1900s. After the mill closed it sat vacant until it was turned into a museum. We took a tour of the mill.
Our next stop was to the nearby town of Poppi. We visited the Castello dei Conti Guidi that was built in 1191.

After visiting the castle we hopped in the car and drove to La Verna. We stopped and found some homemade pasta...We're going to miss Italy's food!
La Verna holds the site of the very first recorded stigmata. St Francis of Assisi went to the mountains in La Verna for a forty day fast in 1224 and received the stigmata. The site is very secluded in the woods.

On our way back to the agriturismo we went to the city of Arezzo. We didn't spend a whole lot of time there and I didn't take many pictures.
It was an early bedtime for us. Friday morning we were checking out and heading towards Rome!
