On Friday evening we arrived in San Venanzo at an Italian farmhouse. We stayed in the farmhouse in the province of Umbria for three nights. The house and landscape were absolutely beautiful and the hosts, Gabriele, Anna and their two daughters, were so hospitable!

Friday night we drove into the town of Marsciano for dinner at a festival. There were food tents, games and live music. This part of Italy seems to speak less English than Lake Como and Cinque Terre. We've been relying on Jay, who studied Italian and German as much as he could leading up to the trip. In some situations Spanish has even come in handy, as it's similar to Italian. I absolutely should have studied the language more before we left. I know a few basic phrases but it's hard not being able to communicate.
Wine is actually less expensive here than Coca-Cola. I've been making the more economical choice and have been sticking with wine!

| We were excited to get back to the farmhouse at night. Their beds are by far the most comfortable we've slept in since we've been away. They even set up extra twin beds in our room, so we all had plenty of space! |

It must of been nice to have a home base for 3 nights. It looked like the location was central for the day excursions you wanted to do. It certainly looks like a fantastic vacation! Have fun!! Love, Nana Marie
