Lake Bohinj & Lake Bled, Slovenia

Yesterday we awoke to Nat, Mal and Rose making breakfast for the family. They set the outdoor table and had coffee, Frozen sparkling juice and peanut butter and Nutella panini sandwiches.

I'm not sure why Mallory is giving Rosalie the side eye in this photo but it makes me laugh.

On our way to Lake Bohinj we had to pass through Lake Bled. I finally got a photo in daylight of Bled Castle where we ate dinner the first night we arrived.

We stopped at a roadside stand that was selling coffee and frozen yogurt. Still scratching my head that water and soda is almost double the price of wine and almost the same as whiskey and vodka!

I was loving their table and stools. Looks like a great spot to sit and relax along the riverbank.

Lake Bohinj...absolutely stunning!

Daddy took Nat, Mal and Rose to the other side of the lake where they rented a wooden row boat for only 8 euros.

After, we ate lunch along the water. Everyone was enjoying their beverage after some sun.

Jay said this Lasko beer was one of the best he's ever had. It's a local brew on tap.

The restaurant has a ramp and trampoline to cool off in the lake.

Rosalie was brave enough to go first.

After Lake Bohinj we drove back into Bled and took a boat ride out to the island.

And look what we found...

Boat ride back to the mainland...

We had reservations to do an Escape Room. It's an hour long game where you race against the clock to solve a riddle.

We've done an escape room back home but this was much better. It was so challenging and the best hour together. We finished the puzzle (with a few clues) with literally one second to spare.

After the game we walked to a dinner place that was highly recommended. Gostilna Murka serves traditional Slovenian food. I was on the hunt for dumplings and they were delicious!

Jay's mixed grill plate with sauerkraut and mustard...

Yesterday was pretty much a perfect day from start to finish.

Today we're taking a day trip to Austria!
